BIOGRAPHY

Mathilde was born in Gent, Belgium in 1982.
She became passionate about dance at a very young age and
completed her studies at the Royal Balletschool Antwerp.
Subsequently she danced with several dance companies;
Royal Ballet of Flanders, Ballet d'Europe, Staatstheater
Nürnberg
and Het Internationaal Danstheater.
During her career as a dancer she worked with several
choreographers in a broad mix of styles. From classical
to modern and more contemporary work. Goyo Montero,
Jiri Kylian, Jan Fabre, Nacho Duato, Stijn Celis, Angelin Preljocaj
etc.
Several main roles were especially created for her;"Juliet" in
Romeo & Juliet and "Mireille" in Mireille. Besides dancing an
urge for more creativity led her to the world of choreography.
In 2012 she wins the "first prize" of Young Belgian
choreographer by Jeugd & Dans, which stimulates her to
continue her research. She starts creating more work for several
dance schools (Royal Balletschool Antwerp, Dansstudio
Arabesque and Dansstudio Arlekino). Under the wings of
Het internationaal Danstheater she creates Through the looking glass
and Something about Orfeo for the annual  young talent program.
In july 2016 she wins "2 prizes" at the Certamen Internacional de Coreografía Burgos-New York. Her duet "Through the
looking glass"will be performed in Valladolid and Siena in spring 2017.
