BIOGRAPHYMathilde was born in Gent, Belgium in 1982.
She became passionate about dance at a very young age and completed her studies at the Royal Balletschool Antwerp. Subsequently she danced with several dance companies; Royal Ballet of Flanders, Ballet d'Europe, Staatstheater Nürnberg and Het Internationaal Danstheater. During her career as a dancer she worked with several choreographers in a broad mix of styles. From classical to modern and more contemporary work. Goyo Montero, Jiri Kylian, Jan Fabre, Nacho Duato, Stijn Celis, Angelin Preljocaj etc. Several main roles were especially created for her;"Juliet" in Romeo & Juliet and "Mireille" in Mireille. Besides dancing an urge for more creativity led her to the world of choreography. In 2012 she wins the "first prize" of Young Belgian choreographer by Jeugd & Dans, which stimulates her to continue her research. She starts creating more work for several dance schools (Royal Balletschool Antwerp, Dansstudio Arabesque and Dansstudio Arlekino). Under the wings of Het internationaal Danstheater she creates Through the looking glass and Something about Orfeo for the annual young talent program. In july 2016 she wins "2 prizes" at the Certamen Internacional de Coreografía Burgos-New York. Her duet "Through the looking glass"will be performed in Valladolid and Siena in spring 2017. |
